Sometimes great design ideas take time to be turned into great crafts or products. Sometimes a first attempt is a prototype fail; sometimes such a bad one that we want to throw it in a cluttered corner and hide it away… almost wanting to give up. But when that original idea has so much promise, well, just calm down for now and wait … sleep, sleep, sleep (and shower and etc.) on it. Ever get great ideas in bed before sleepiness hits? This is when you might come up with a solution to fix your craft fail. Then with new morning or coffee energy, it’s back to work with a fresh mind and renewed faith in one’s self.

And remember, if at 1st or even 2nd you don’t succeed, simmah dow’ nah (like that old SNL skit) then try, try again!

Hopefully learning this myself will soon result in a great new fun item! Stay tuned.

Bonus Tip: You might even be able to upcycle a treasure from your trashed original!

I took a bit of a break here selling and even a little bit on the creative front, yes while we’re still new. First of all, we ran into technical issues while I also exhaustively tried out different cart solutions – and we’re back using Big Cartel. More delaying issues relate to my desire for “perfectionist” pictures. Gah.

A worse setback is I needed/need to work on raising my income in my blogging pursuits (my main job partly because I am disabled), because that’s already been successful in the past, and I need more money to even create more. This too was set back with a week’s outage of Internet, inexplicably and maddening.

Add to that one very expensive obstacle; I need more ink in my printer! This is troubling with my love for custom fabric making and a new desire to make cards (related to good news below).

One good thing keeping me busy and busier than usual (and something to get used to) is that I’ve found love! Aaaaand often instead of making fashions, I’ve … well …

Which finds me desiring to participate more in Valentine’s creating and promoting – but this includes envelope clutches with printed poems on fabric, and jewelry and cards that are not nauseating and … I’m back at needing money to even start.

At least I’ve adjusted to life once again coupled (how hard ). Adjusting to working as much as ever (note it can be hard swinging fully into writing online/blogging after not having Internet for a week) is actually a much harder part.

*Originally posted on Nov. 13th…* …

Note: When you go to old index, you must hit CTRL F5 or equivalent hard refresh!

We’re back!!! after the blog (only) being down while revamping the entire domain, including what is now our new shop (the old store was viewable during that time).

V2 Index Capture on Chrome

The site is fancier (as you can see if you’ve been here before), because I feel freeer in my creativity with this platform. So yes, we have a nice redesign and a new shop setup. (Browse around, and get a feel for it, but soon I’ll post an opinion poll or two.)

There are still things to be done, even some things that may require down time again (but less of it). Also, there will be little bugs in the beginning*, but in the long run our new cart system will allow us to expand into any form of payment acceptance (we choose) – and offer many more benefits. This system is limitless, whereas I already hit some walls for preferences with the old. (I did not now when signing up with the other service that they just directed to PayPal, themselves, and not a secure server taking cards.) I did love their service, and it’s probably the best for many, but I myself am too advanced, too picky, and already had a vision.

V2 Shop homepage capture

That being said, I love this blog/CMS script we use with its tags, cross-promoting, etc. but I couldn’t use the one cart plugin that allowed posts to turn to separated listings, because it’s always had this fatal troubling flaw. So in the near future I’ll be brainstorming ways to make up for what this (robust, if intrusive) chosen script can’t doesn’t do. What you already see are tricks/hacks that go beyond the norm.

Enough tech trattle, let’s get to the beauty, visualization, design … and hopefully shopping! (Or reading the blog or more information.) Thanks for visiting!!

*Two known bugs so far, one is that atomatically linking out products I want to display but sell OOAK elsewhere – isn’t functioning. That lead me to tell that when I delete a product that “started a new page”, there is still a link to the further page, though nothing is on it. So far, minor bugs.

Wait, what’s that? I wanted to sew … and was amidst knitting? I’ll back away, with a tech tweak here and there.

Well a visual size chart with the 3 main female heights depicted holding our bags, like so..

You can see how detailed it is with information aplenty. I have more differently-styled “models” waiting for different “occasion” bags.

I like to call each set our 3 raven-locks and our 1 bag.

Click here to see this product display in action!

By the way, yes we’re trying out the 1D “paper doll” model with other product types, but don’t worry it’s not the end-all solution. Human models (well, I) are coming for other wearables!

Psssssst, where are more bags? There will probably be two more listed today, and for yet more, I’m awaiting a zipper order.

What I did today was get the blog going. So yeah, I design and create my own products with my mind/hands and I also do all the technical side of designing, with my fingers.

So now I can start writing! … Only… will writer’s block set in? Hehe.

I can also soon get back to creating, but tomorrow’s Halloween and it’s a busy time!!
