New Bag Size 3-Model Charts Fit ALL Just Right!

November 7th, 2008

What depicts a handbag’s size better than a photo of one model, and in the case of myself, a very petite (yet curvy, just saying) model?

Well a visual size chart with the 3 main female heights depicted holding our bags, like so..

You can see how detailed it is with information aplenty. I have more differently-styled “models” waiting for different “occasion” bags.

I like to call each set our 3 raven-locks and our 1 bag. ;-)

By the way, yes we’re trying out the 1D “paper doll” model with other product types, but don’t worry it’s not the end-all solution. Human models (well, I) are coming for other wearables!

Psssssst, where are more bags? There will probably be two more listed today, and for yet more, I’m awaiting a zipper order. :-)

Poll the Buyers: Corresponding Lining Color

November 3rd, 2008

I’m making an edgy little black leather bag with rivets and studs, and I’m wondering what color lining you prefer with black leather (solid) or perhaps just what color is trending you up for Winter. (No expectations on your buying it, of course.)

Rainbow Fabric, originally uploaded by sjnewton from Flickr.

Thanks for participating! Please leave a little note with your URL after voting. :-)

Please note, if solid color, bag may have other trim in this color. (Also note, I don’t want the suede to show through with black, because it shows lint from your junk/goodies.)

Black Leather Purse + _color_ lining?

The poll will close Tue. the 4th at 12 noon (unless extended), so I can finish the bag!

Here’s a photo of one of my linings (if that helps).. Read the rest of this entry »

Shopping the “Victorian” Trend

November 1st, 2008

The most popular marketplace for handmade goods and indie sellers, Etsy.com (of which I’m a member), offers as one of its features the ability for members to periodically publish themed shopping collections they call, “Treasuries”.

When I make one, I will likely post it to this blog. (Promoting all indie/handmade is definitely a positive in my book.)

Here is my “Victoria Victoria” treasury with Victorian-era-inspired fashions:

You may click on the image to see more, but they are only available for 2 days. The list of sellers I featured is below the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
